Our approach to Web site design

The approach to designing a specific Web site will necessarily depend upon on the nature of the site in question; however, certain general principles govern WindSword’s approach to designing sites. They can be summed up as: the message is what matters. That is true whether the message is “buy my product”, “look at my artwork”, or any of the other reasons people and companies set up Web sites.

• Nothing is more important than the content.
• Site navigation must be clear: in particular, it should be simple for visitors to find, rapidly, any information about services and prices they need.
• Sites should usually be inclusive so that as far as possible no one is excluded because of their browser or platform.
• The components of a site should load quickly and in most circumstances not exclude those who do not have certain plug-ins or a sound card.
